Training of Kindergarden Staff in Mingun: Christine Kießling is there for the 2.nd time

Christine Kießling has been working as an expert in the kindergarten in Mingun. She is staying there already for the second time and is continuing the excellent job.
Here is a compendium of her latest report:
“….They received me with great hospitality. The building and the area around have been kept in good order. There are many improvements: No waste or uncontrolled growth in the area, a new wall and a well-done pump house, a new air conditioning in the office (my room),…., a new shower room, so that I am not forced to leave the house to take a shower.

The playing equipment is undamaged, and both the kindergarten children and the school children are enjoying a lot. At the moment we can hear the wonderful sound of a soccer team playing outside. …
In consultation with Bothaw (speaker of the kindergarten committee) we ordered new office furniture for Kyaw Kyaw and the young female educational staff. ….They are planning to set up a library in one large room, where dishes are stored up to now. …A library is such an excellent idea, and people here know exactly what they need. …. A library is one step towards an institution for the whole community. They want to offer an alternative to excessive TV-consumption. We want to start to buy some books and organize a night of reading for the children for inauguration.
…Learning and playing material has been used a lot and is worn down. ….They also need some sort of floor covering to play on and I will ask at PDO, which possibilities we have. …. I brought with me 30 toothbrushes to introduce some hygienic practice….
The young people are enthusiastically at work and are eager to learn. As they remarked that some points of development psychology would be useful for every young mother, we got the idea of a “school for mothers” with the subjects “education, nutrition, hygiene”. I would like to work out a concept. Always new ideas arise – by the people themselves! ….
We hope for further support.
Greetings also from Kyaw Kyaw
Best regards
Chr. Kießling”
